As per clause 16(1) of the Energy Conservation Act 2001, Administration of Daman & Diu constitute a fund called “U.T. of Daman and Diu Energy Conservation Fund Rules, 2018” for purpose of promotion of efficient use of energy and its conservation within U.T of Daman & Diu. This fund is to be used as Revolving Investment Fund (RIF), to finance implementation of energy efficiency projects in public buildings including Administration under taken buildings, energy efficient street lights, common area lighting projects, energy efficiency projects in drinking water pumping stations and agricultural pump sets etc.

This results in substantial energy saving reduction in CO2 emission in the UT.
