Awareness Programme on “Energy Efficiency in Agriculture Sector”

Awareness programme on “Energy Efficiency in Agriculture Sector” was organized on 21st January 2023 by SDA Daman and Diu in co-ordination with District Panchayat, Daman at Agriculture Farm, Moti Daman. The objective of the programme was to impart knowledge on Energy Efficiency to Farmers.

The programme was chaired by Project Officer, SDA Daman and Diu. The programme covered topics such as, benefits of energy efficiency activities, potential energy savings in agriculture sector, drip irrigation and its benefits, solar energy in agriculture. Around 65 persons attended the programme including farmers and officials from agriculture department.

Electricity Department of Daman & Diu is part of the Administration of Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, headed by the Secretary (Power). Day to day work related to functioning of the Department is looked by the Executive Engineer (Elect.) at Division level.
